Terre Haute has been busy with a lot of work from great customers. Recently a plastics recycling customer called about high vibration on a dryer auger. This customer recycles the plastic processing it into industrial resins that are used to make plastic bags. The stainless-steel auger is used to convey plastic pellets during the washing process, prior to drying and packaging. Due to high vibration the auger was pulled and sent to the Terre Haute shop for repair. Cement Season at Horner

It’s cement outage season in Indiana with Horner doing work in Greencastle, Louisville, Logansport, Speed, and Mitchell IN. A Central Indiana cement plant is conducting their largest Maintenance and Repair outage in 20 years. They needed to replace an entire section of both the kiln and raw mill. The company brought in a 700-ton mobile crane to the plant site requiring 78 semi loads of support to set up. Wind Tunnel TGF 5000 HP Motor

A customer contacted us to work on a TGF 5000 hp motor.  Trisonic Gasdynamics Facility.  What in the heck is a TGF.  A wind tunnel.  The AFB tests airplane models in a wind tunnel.  The wind tunnel air speed maximum is mach 3.5.  The 10 stage Allis Chalmers compressor requires 8500 hp.  A 3500 hp wound rotor motor couples to a Falk gearbox with the 5000 hp synchronous motor.
