University Pump Project

A prominent public university recently faced the challenge of maintaining around 30 critical pumps across its campus, including heat and chiller pumps, sewage pumps, storm drain pumps, inline booster pumps, and condensate pumps. With no in-house maintenance department due to a shortage of skilled trade workers, the university turned to Horner for a comprehensive solution. The project involved refurbishing, replacing, and repairing various pumps, with some also requiring new motors. Horner Pump Repair, Horner Terre Haute, and Indianapolis Field Service collaborated closely to deliver outstanding results. The project was led by Kenzie Mace, Sales Rep, and Travis Brown from Terre Haute, with Jeremy Brown serving as the on-site project manager. Around eight field service technicians rotated daily, ensuring smooth progress. Matt Russell from the pumps division expertly organized the intake and processing of each pump, keeping the project on track. Thanks to Horner’s exceptional performance, the university has already planned to send additional work, including a 100hp pump for repair. With the initial pumps completed, Horner is now set to begin work on the backup pumps, further solidifying our partnership with the university. This project is a testament to Horner’s ability to work together across divisions, delivering top-tier service and expertise in the face of unique challenges. The success of this collaboration ensures that the university’s operations will continue smoothly, with Horner as their trusted maintenance partner.
